Dr. Matin joined the Sleep Disorders Center of Georgia in July 2001. He relocated from Bethesda, Maryland where he served as Fellow and Principal Investigator for the Pulmonary-Critical Care Medicine Branch, National Institutes of Health. He completed his Fellowship in Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine with Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta in 1999 and his Residency in Internal Medicine with State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1997. Dr. Matin is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Medicine. His doctoral Research Fellowship was completed in 1994 with Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Japan. Dr. Matin has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors for research and postgraduate studies. His major publications are in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Chest, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and Transplantation.
